Arthur Clisby

Arthur was a strong supporter, active volunteer and tireless advocate for motoring heritage in Australia. Arthur was one of the instigators for the Bay to Birdwood and served in several roles for over 40 years for the Federation of Historic Motoring Clubs of SA, the Bay to Birdwood and Motorfest Committees. Significantly, Arthur was one of those who convinced the South Australian government of the day that conditional historic registration would be beneficial to historic motoring.

When an entrant donates to the Foundation they will be provided with a special ribbon to display on their vehicle for the Run demonstrating their support for the Flinders Foundation in honour of Arthur.

Flinders Foundation

Since 2011 the Bay to Birdwood has proudly partnered with the Flinders Medical Centre Foundation providing opportunities to fundraise and promote their valuable work.

The Flinders Medical Centre Foundation’s mission is to advance health and wellbeing in partnership with the community through an ongoing commitment to world standard research, education and patient care.

They give their supporters the opportunity to invest in the wellbeing of present and future generations.

Proceeds raised by the FMC Foundation through the Bay to Birdwood will be directed into research at the Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer.

The Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer (FCIC), incorporating the LIVESTRONG Cancer Research Centre and ACRF Cancer Prevention Unit, is a leading cancer centre in Australia, housing world-class care and survivorship services alongside innovative cancer prevention and early intervention research.

The FMC Foundation continues to fundraise for the FCIC to ensure that the facility is fully equipped with the very latest equipment, the best in patient comfort and to generate funds to support innovative research, survivorship programs and patient services.

They have over 400 researchers based at the Flinders Medical Centre who are dedicated and determined to find better ways to prevent or cure disease such as cancer, heart, eye and degenerative diseases.

The Flinders Medical Centre Foundation is just as dedicated in raising funds for equipment and research needs to help our hard-working researchers, doctors and nurses provide the best possible patient outcomes.
